Steeped in a rich and vibrant history the square has been home to many events and continues to be a traditional setting for demonstrations, celebrations, and other public gatherings. It’s one of the main City Squares and the centre of business and cultural communities in New Town. The square is named after the patron saint of Bohemia Saint Wenceslas and is a world heritage site. For the inquisitive mind don’t miss the vast National museum housing almost 14 million items from the areas of natural history, history, arts, music, and librarianship all located in many buildings. The main building of the museum is located on the upper end of Wenceslas square and was built in 1885. A great deal of work has been put into collecting new materials over the museums long history.
